In response to the National Weather Service forecast of rain and thunderstorms, the Office of Supportive Housing is announcing Inclement Weather Episode #10 for the entire County continuing through March 12, 2021. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain. For more information about homeless shelter availability, call our hotline number 408-278-6420. It is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., transportation provided! Bed space is limited.

Good afternoon! I would like to let all of our Gilroy residents know that the Armory shelter for homeless will be opening soon. For opening day, we are aiming for Monday November 16th at 6pm and it will be open 24/7 for the winter. If you or someone else you know is experiencing homelessness, please come into the Gilroy Compassion Center Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am to 1pm to sign up. The Gilroy Compassion Center is located at 370 Tomkins Court Unit D in Gilroy.

Good afternoon! I would like to give everyone an UPDATE on the Gilroy Compassion Center for HOMELESS. We have a new Executive Director, Tim Davis. Please give him a warm welcome. Another wonderful update, 4 of our homeless have been picked up for housing! Congrats to all these folks! Have a wonderful day!!

Due to concerns about the COVID-19 virus, the City has made the difficult decision to cancel the 18th Annual Second Chance Week event, including the coat collection. Although they are looking forward to getting back on track with the event in 2021, we need your help with 2020. We will take new and gently used adult coats Monday through Friday 9am to 1pm at the Gilroy Compassion Center located at 370 Tomkins Court. Thank you! Ps... we are also in need of WORKING adult bikes. Used is fine.

Gilroy Compassion Center would like to thank our partners Indian Association of South Santa Clara County (IASC) for providing hot Indian meals every week to our clients experiencing homelessness. Wed like to thank Nasreen Ahmed and Poonam Chabra who represent Circle of Givinga humanitarian initiative of the Indian Association of South Santa Clara County (IASC). It means so much that they’re able to provide these delicious and nutritious meals to those we serve. Thanks and Namaste!! We’d also like to thank Sachin Radhakrishnan for providing support to those experiencing homelessness, and for having connected IASC with us.
