Friends of Gustafson Family Vineyards, It is with great sadness, we announce the permanent closure of Gustafson Family Vineyards... On August 23rd, 2020 - the Lightning Complex Fire (also referred to as LNU) struck our property, destroying our winemaker's home, our barns and farming equipment, a section of the vineyards, and the entire 2020 crop. Thanks to the brave crews of Cal Fire, the main house was saved with minimal damage. Things can be replaced, and the land will tak...e time to heal, but some of the losses incurred cannot be so easily repaired. The emotional stress has weighed heavily on our staff... Hearts broken, they have all decided to move on and we support each of them in their decision. With the losses on the property and of our team, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue operations as a winery. We have been honored to share our wines and hospitality with you and your friends over the years. Official Winery Update: Our Estate in Geyserville was hit hard by the fires on Wednesday night but we are more than happy to report that the winery is still standing! Here are the facts as told by Dan Gustafson and CAL FIRE officials that have been on-site at the Estate these past few days: -Our Winery, offices, and main Estate remain fully intact and miraculously were unharmed by the fire... -We have sustained minimal vineyard damage -Our 2020 Harvest is currently pending. We will make this decision after further testing -We report with great sadness, the residence of our beloved winemaker and his wonderful family has been completely destroyed by the fire. Please know that Emmett and his family are SAFE and were able to evacuate with plenty of notice from Cal Fire. Our hearts go out to them in this difficult time! -The grounds of the property have also incurred some fire damage. *At this time, we remain FULLY CLOSED until further notice and we will not be taking any reservations for visitors. We are tremendously thankful for the five units from Cal Fire for their selfless & tireless hours spent saving our winery! Gustafson Family Vineyards will be forever grateful and we would like to thank all of the firefighters and first responders that are fighting diligently to keep Sonoma County safe.
