Friends and neighbors: After six weeks of being shut down, we hope the Fountain at The Circle will be back in operation very soon. In recent days, City of Berkeley technicians have been able to replace crucial elements of the fountain’s operating system, including a new main pump (which powers the fountain to flow) and auto-fill valve (which helps regulate the fountain’s water level).... https://www.berkeleyfountain.org/fountain-repair-update-cl/

Friends and neighbors: The Fountain at The Circle remains shut off while we await replacement parts to repair the pumping and auto-filling systems. We hope those will arrive and can be installed very soon. We will post another update when the work is underway. Friends and neighbors: The Fountain at The Circle had to be shut off on Mar. 13 after a member of our volunteer maintenance crew discovered an issue with the fountain's main pump. We have asked the city to investigate. We hope the issue can be resolved quickly and the fountain turned back on soon. We'll update you as soon as we can. Dear Friends of FOFW, In November 2016, Berkeley voters approved Measure T1, a $100 million bond measure to repair, renovate, replace or reconstruct elements of our city’s aging infrastructure. Phase 1, approved in 2017, has funded more than 45 projects through 2021, including renovation of the North Berkeley Senior Center and Live Oak Community Center, as well as various park upgrades, street and landscaping improvements. Friends and neighbors: Or maybe Ruth Bader Grizzly? Over the weekend, someone adorned one of the Fountain at The Circle's grizzly bear cub sculptures with a collar reminiscent of those famously worn by the late Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (see the attached photo). In general, we discourage anyone from going onto the fountain island for any reason, or from doing anything to the island or the fountain to alter it or distract passing vehicles for safety reasons.
