In late 2020, Congress passed legislation (P.L. 116-330, signed into law on 1/13/2021) directing the U.S. Mint to consult with NWHM, as well as the Smithsonian Institution American Women’s History Initiative and the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus, to identify prominent American women to honor on a series of quarter dollars over the next four years, with circulation beginning in early 2022. The National Women's History Museum is thrilled to play a role in highlighting inspiring women in this extraordinary way. Send us your recommendations of women to be included in the project here: https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLScqWjRHVCn5LXSehx/viewform

Women's history is American history, said Mia Nagawiecki, Vice-President for Education at the New-York Historical Society. Leaving them out neglects the truth, stifles nuance, and robs girls and womenas well as all Americansof important stories of resilience, empowerment, and courage. Ever been to Pann's?
In an address written by Elizabeth Blackwell in 1885, she laid out the mission of the infirmary to allow women to consult doctors of their own sex, free of charge; to provide the growing number of female medical students with the practical experience denied them by established hospitals; and to train nurses. Thank you, Avoiding Regret, for drawing our attention to this!

Days like this I think about why Agnes chose to open Rockhaven in Verdugo City
Wishing all our Friends a lovely holiday season!

Within the next few months this video of our tour will be going up on our website. Our own remarkable John Newcomb created it, as well as building interior tours, walkway tours, an Over Rockhaven video, even a Then and Now video, all accessible through an interactive map - click where you want to see and off you'll go! We are incredibly lucky and grateful to have him in our community! https://vimeo.com/462495963
They are again looking into housing. And The Brick wall is starting to fail! As are all the buildings. Glendale is waiting for someone else to take on their responsibility.
