F&L is leading a team for the design of storm drain improvements in the City of San Bruno’s Spyglass Drive neighborhood located off Sharp Road. The storm drain system within the contributing watershed has experienced capacity issues during large storm events causing significant flooding to several homeowners. The project scope including hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to determine the existing system capacity and allow the team to develop potential improvement alternatives. F&L is working closely with the City to evaluate the capacity issues identified during the preliminary design phase including existing utility research and clash evaluation. Design is anticipated to wrap up in early 2020 with construction planned next summer. #FreyerLaureta #stormdrain #sanbruno

The City of Pacifica’s Pedro Point Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project was recently selected as Project of the Year by the American Public Works Association Silicon Valley Chapter. F&L provided engineering design services for the project that successfully replaced over 16,000 linear feet of 6-inch and 8-inch sanitary sewer mains using pipe bursting construction methods. Approximately 50% of the sewer mains replaced are located within backyard easements in the Pedro Point ne...ighborhood. The project was successfully completed on time and with minimal change orders. Completing the project prior to January 1, 2019 was a key step that the City has taken to eliminate capacity related sanitary sewer overflows in order to protect our water resources. Congratulations to the City of Pacifica! Jeff Tarantino (Vice President with F&L) joined City of Pacifica staff including Louis Sun (Assistant Director Public Works Wastewater), Rey Mendez (Assistant Superintendent Collections), and Alex Garcia (Associate Civil Engineer) to accept the Project of the Year award on behalf the project team. #infrastructure #trenchlesstechnologies #APWA #waterquality #civilengineering #FreyerLaureta See more

Freyer & Laureta is the lead designer for the Mission Bay Blocks 29-32 and Mission Bay Blocks 33-34 Public Improvement projects. These public improvement projects included coordination with multiple onsite developments including the new Chase Center. We had the opportunity to send a few people to tour the Chase Center and see the main entrance, main arena area, suites, and the player’s practice level. We are excited to see the public improvement projects completed in the next couple weeks and the opening of the Chase Center!

Freyer & Laureta is excited to be leading an excellent team on the Treasure Island infrastructure design. Our first set of street improvement plans were recently submitted to the City and County of San Francisco for permit review which is a substantial milestone culminating the last years’ worth of design and planning. We look forward to seeing the new infrastructure and open spaces come to life to revitalize this already beautiful and fun island. #TreasureIsland #SanFrancisco #BayArea #CCSF #infrastructure #FreyerLaureta

For Silicon Valley Clean Water (SVCW), F&L designed the replacement of a 48-inch valve for the San Carlos Booster Pump Station, the replacement of a series of check valves and expansion joints for the San Carlos Pump Station, and the replacement of a 24-inch valve that controls flow from the West Bay Sanitary District’s Flow Equalization Facility back to the Menlo Park Pump Station. This is the second valve replacement project designed by F&L for SVCW, both constructed successfully and with minimal change orders. Photo credit: Tanner Pacific, Inc.
