Our Construction Manager, Mazen Mneimneh, and his CM Team supervising the 1,200 ft Rancho Santa Margarita bridge that has been jacked to new heights on 09/04/20 with a hydraulic system to unseat the hinge for replacement. Supported on CIDH piles, the falsework system extends 50 ft above ground and will hold up the bridge during reconstruction.

July 11th and 12th was an exciting time in Milpitas, CA, as the new Montague Expressway Pedestrian Overcrossing was hoisted into position, and the concrete bridge deck was placed. DMZ Builders hoisted the bridge segments, bolted them together, performed field welding, patched the bridge roof, placed the lightweight concrete deck, and grouted the anchor bolts at the bents/columns. As part of VTA's work on the BART expansion to San Jose, the 229-foot-long Montague Expressway PO...C will connect the new transit-oriented developments north of Montague Expressway to the new Milpitas BART Station south of the expressway. Congratulations to the VTA and the City of Milpitas on this milestone for the project! Bridging the gap between work and home

Kathleen Dillon, Principal at Biggs Cardosa, participated as a panelist at a career fair hosted by the Envision Academy of Arts and Technology (EA) located in Oakland, California. EA is a tuition-free public charter high school (grades 6-12) dedicated to transforming students’ lives by preparing them for success in college and in life. Biggs Cardosa is providing peer review services for the seismic design of four of the stations and several pedestrian bridges for the Automated People Mover project administered by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and located at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
