Halloween season is my favorite time of year. It’s a busy time of year from building haunts, costume making and birthday celebrations. This year I get to do it all. I made time for making a costume, am currently working on a haunted house (you should come by and see it), celebrated my birthday along with my super sweet S.I.L. Aaaaand got in a creepy cake in there. This cake was inspired from a haloloween DIY page I belong to. It was a skin lamp made of clay I believe. I immediately imagined it in cake. My lamp even lights up! Happy Halloween!!!

I’m in awe of the very talented Gregoire Goel and his sugar blowing skills. His two day Ratatouille isomalt course was so informative and really simplified what I imagined to be such a daunting process. My mind is blown and racing with ideas. Thank you to School of Cakeology for opening their doors to us. Their hospitality is so warm and loving.

On a sunny San Diego day, the Dolly Llama met her fate. Note to non bakers, ahem, my husband, do not leave a chocolate piece in the car On the upside, I like the road kill look on her. It’s inspiring some Halloween ideas.
