These things happen, but a recall is a result that you did not catch the foreign material at your plant. Time to go back to your food safety plan and see where the error occurred. That will keep your name and liability out of the news. #hotpockets #fsis #foodsafety

FDA updating the FSMA code. Hopefully, these updates will make compliance easier and more cost-effective for the food industry. New regulations usually come with new costs. I'm hopeful. #FDA #FSMA #HARPC #PCQI

No criminal charges against Chipotle, but now they are required to have a robust food safety program, that they really should have had in the first place. Call us if you need assistance. #chipotle #norovirus #ecoli https://www.marlerblog.com//chipotle-mexican-grill-agrees/

Fact: Leafy green vegetables now cause more E. coli outbreaks than any other food, including beef. FDA or farm industry needs to focus more on the causes of this to bring down the rate of illnesses. #leafygreens #FDA #E.coli

Farmers slowing getting used to being inspected under the new FDA Food Safety Modernization Act. It's a bit of a growing pain to implement the GAPs, but in the end, it benefits us all. State Ag departments can do a great deal to assist the farms with site visits and consultations. It looks like Maine is doing a great job of that. #FSMA #Farmers #MainDeptAg #foodsafety

Very interesting if true. FDA needs to make water testing of the waters aroud the farm a requirement and one for continual monitoring. It seems like the farms should do this anyway as part of a true hazard assessment plan. #HACCP #FDA #RomaineLettuce

If you wonder where all the food allergies have come from, please read. Luckily we are learning it has to do with the gut microbiome. Restore the balance in the gut to reduce the sensitivity to those foods. It's ironic now how the food that is not good for the gut biome (fried foods) will have labels on them for allergens in them. Yet that food then itself contributes to a bad gut microbiome and then the allergic sensitivity condition is recreated. Crazy. #foodallergies #allergens
