In celebration of Classified Staff Appreciation Week, we are sharing some of our amazing staff's stories here. Meet Chrys Ramirez, office clerk at Fremont Elementary. Chrys has been part of MCSD for 12 years. As an office clerk, Chris is often the first face that parents and students see. And she has the perfect welcoming personality for the role. "I greet parents and students, help them when they have issues, or if they have questions or concerns about their child's progress..., attendance, etc. On a normal day, I probably answer around 50 phone calls, sometimes more. During the pandemic, it's about the same, but their issues are different. Usually, they need help with logging in, or they are having issues with one of the programs they use. I don't always know the answer, but I do my best to find someone who can help them if I can't." Chrys says what keeps her going are the kids and her team. "First, the kids. Normally, they have to see me for not-so-good reasons, like they're late or they didn't make it to school. But I always try to help them stay positive and let them know that we're here to help. I also love my site. I love the team that I work with. I enjoy coming to work. And when you enjoy coming to work, it makes your days so much better. Even though there are issues all around, it helps knowing that you have a team behind you through anything." Thank you, Chris for all you do! We appreciate you! #proudtobemcsd #classifiedemployeesweek #staffappreciation
This week is Classified Employees’ Appreciation Week. From transporting and feeding students to teaching them vital academic skills and ensuring that schools are clean and operating smoothly, classified employees are integral to MCSD. Please join us in saying thank you to this dedicated group for all they do for our students year around. We so appreciate all of them and their contributions to MCSD! #proudtobemcsd #classifiedemployeesweek
We concluded our celebration of our team last Friday with a super fun superhero-themed Staff Appreciation Picnic. While this year’s event looked a little different, the spirit remained the same showing our gratitude for all of our staff’s hard work and dedication. Our Board of Education trustees joined in on the festivities and there were lots of cheers and applause as retirees and service awardees drove up to get their awards for many years of dedicated service to MCSD and our students. Thank you to our hardworking team who worked hard behind the scenes to make this event possible, from the decor to the delicious food and more. We are Proud to be MCSD! #StaffAppreciation #proudtobemcsd
