I’ve been shot, send help, radioed an LASD deputy Saturday night after being shot numerous times at point blank range. She and her partner endured collective... gunshots to the face, head, both arms, hand and persevered. After this attempted execution, these heroes had the presence of mind to get out of the car and find cover; radio for help; apply a tourniquet to severe wounds and stand guard until their partners arrived. This is what is called the will to survive. It is a trained mentality to be used in life-saving situations that require extreme mental resilience; when giving up is not an option. These heroes have our outmost respect. We know the days and weeks to come will be difficult, emotional and incredibly painful but please know you have the love and support of so many people.
