We are very excited to announce the newest member of the #FocalPointFamily. Dr. Chris Hsieh has joined us as a full time associate in the practice: Dr. Hsieh (shay) grew up in Orange County, CA and earned his undergraduate degree from UC Irvine with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Immediately following his time at UC Irvine, he attended the prestigious UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. In addition to working at t...he eye clinic at UC Berkeley, Dr. Hsieh completed clinical externships at the Omni Eye Center in New Jersey and New York, Kaiser Permanente in Daly City, as well as at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Hsieh is licensed to practice the highest level of optometry, which includes the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, performing lacrimal dilation and irrigation, and treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Hsieh is passionate about low vision and has extensive experience in prescribing visual aids for patients with vision loss due to age-related macular degeneration, ocular-albinism, diabetic retinopathy, and many other forms of maculopathies. In his free time, Dr. Hsieh enjoys working on cars, riding his motorcycle, going on hikes, and watching ice hockey.

We are excited to announce our reopening date of this Monday, June 1st. We appreciate your patience as we protected our staff and your families during this crisis. Below are some guidelines for your visit. Please remember all visitations to our office require an appointment time. Please plan accordingly and call ahead before your visit. 1. We recommend that you avoid an appointment if you are a high-risk patient with a... compromised immune system seeking only routine care. 2. We will be reducing the number of patients in our office to allow adequate #socialdistancing. It is important to keep your appointment. Missed or late appointments will be rescheduled no earlier than 3 weeks from the time of the original exam. 3. To expedite your time in the office, we kindly ask all patients to complete all paperwork prior to arriving at your appointment. Forms are available online at focalpointoptometry.com or we can email to you prior to your exam. 4. When you arrive we ask that you remain in your car and call the office at 714-992-8020 to let us know you are here. We will let you know when to come in for your appointment to minimize the amount of people in the office. 5. As mandated, all staff and patients will be asked to wear a protective face mask in the office. If you do not have one we can provide you with one. 6. All patients entering the office will have temperatures taken and will be asked to use hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap and water upon arrival. 7. Please do not bring any guests into the office. (All children under the age of 18 can have 1 parent accompany them.) 8. Due to COVID19 our offices now require an Optomap for all exams. This is a retinal image to show the doctor the overall health of the eye. The copayment will be $39, unless stated otherwise by your insurance. 9.
