You can minimize the size of that window with timing and technique. I’m making sure Milan’s hands are in position to catch any incoming punches while he’s punching. This is another way I like to use the mitts. Chances are you opponent will be trying to punch you while you are trying to punch them. Make it realistic! Drill your combinations enough in the gym so you have the proper timing, technique and confidence to throw them in sparring/Competition. Practice. Drill. Kill. See more

Having good Defense in boxing is about body control, hand placement, confidence and reflexes. Develop your rolls to improve your defense. Practice. Drill. Kill. Tips on rolling Exaggerate - the depth of your roll in training. Get comfortable bending those legs. It will increase strength & range of motion. In competition, only go as low as you need to. Counter Everything - Make them miss, Make them pay. If you roll a shot try to have a counter attack set up. Always counter in combination. ( At least 3 punches) Repetition - Get plenty of reps in the gym before it works in sparring/competition. Expect to have several failed attempts in sparring. Be discipline and keep practicing.
