3/4 Day charters 9/9/16 and 9/10/16 with limits of yellowfin tuna both days. We took Grant and Daniel out for the first time on the new boat and got them into a wide open yft bite for 2 hours. Then on Saturday Rafael and his friends from Vegas got a taste of San Diego tuna fishing with another 2 hour wide open bite! The new boats running great. Call me up to book a trip!

3/4 day charter May 10 2016 with Bob, Cherry and Neil fro Jamul. We started outside the Islands for tuna but nothing was showing. Worked inside to the lee of the North island and found a nice school of yellowtail that wanted to bite. Cherry hooked the jackpot with a 20# yellow. Found some Bonita outside and then the big blue fin tuna showed themselves coming up under bird schools in the 80-100lb class. The fish weren't staying up long enough to get a bite but it was a good show!

3/4 Day charter May 9th 2016 with David and his family from Northern Utah. We fished the lee side of South Island for a nice mix of Yellowtail and barracuda. Later we headed offshore in search of Tuna and found bonito tuna on bird schools. The yellowtail were pushing up bait in the afternoon outside North Island but didn't want to bite. Another fun day on the water!

May 4th 2016 1/2 day charter. We landed this fat 55lb blue fin tuna with Andy and his friends from LA. It's the first blue fin of the year on the Fish Hunter.

May 2 2016 crew trip. A great day of fishing for yellowtail casting surface irons on fish under bird schools. Landed 17 fish in the 15-20lb range.

3/4 day charter April 22. Rio and Saber came out with their family from Arizona and landed 15 spotted bass and this 26 inch Halibut for dinner.

April 17 am 1/2 day charter with Erin and Joey from Nevada. Beautiful day on the water with fun fishing for small yellowtail and barracuda.

April 17 pm 1/2 day with John and Chuck from Colorado. Found this 38" Halibut hanging out with some calico bass. Biggest Halibut of the year! Lots of good fillets on this one.

March 28 2016 1/2 day charter with Kyle and his friends from Tennessee. Storm was rolling in so we decided to stay in the bay. Pulled out a 7 lb halibut for lunch and these jumbo sized sand bass and calico.

March 21 1/2 day charter with Dave and his friends in town for water treatment conference. Rough weather but we managed to find a wide open barracuda bite. Then on the way in, we were able to pick off a hand full of yellowtail for dinner.

March 15 2016 3/4 day trip to the islands. Nate and his family came out and got into some red hot yellowtail action. Here's Nate with the jackpot fish.

First yellowtail of the season on the blue and white yo yo jig. Thanks to Burt and his crew for coming out fishing with us and landing this nice yellow.

June 18 2015 3/4 day with Russell and his friends from Temecula that came out for a second trip. Nice grade of yellows up to 25lbs. Had a triple hook up and landed all 3 with the biggest sea lions I've seen chasing the fish to the boat. Great job to Russ and his friends landing the yellows and cleaning out the beer cooler!

March 16, 2015 1/2 day Darren and Jared came out for their second 1/2 day trip and the weather was in the high 80's with calm winds. We headed down to the yellowtail zone to get Jared a chance at a big fish. We worked hard for a couple hours chumming bait and throwing surface irons but the bite was a little slow. A few more boats moved in and we were able to slow troll some mackerel without the sea lions stealing them. Within a few minutes we were bit. Jared handled this nice 20 pounder like a pro, pulling it from the jaws of a sea lion at the last minute. We ended the day loading up on more rock fish and headed to Fisherman's Processing to drop off the catch for shipping back to Oklahoma.

March 14, 2015 1/2day charter Darren and his son Jared from Oklahoma came down for a couple days of fishing just in time for the warmest weather we've seen all year. We started out the day rock fishing and quickly had our limits with Red Vermilion Rock Cod, White Fish, and Boccaccio. We then headed down to the Kelp area where the yellowtail were biting and Darren landed this nice 20 pounder.

March 10, 2015 1/2 day Charter with Russell and his friends from Phoenix were down for his wedding and came out for a trip. Partly cloudy conditions but the seas were calm and flat. Wide open rock fishing for a boat load of fish and this trophy 8lb red rockfish.

March 7, 2015 1/2 day charter with Mike and Sonja from Salt Lake City. Beautiful conditions and some nice size Yellowtail were biting. Landed 3 but lost one to the sea lions.

Feb 21 3/4 day charter with Mark, Sue, Donna and the boys from Georgia. Looked like it was going to be windy when we left the bay but the wind laid down and we had calm, flat seas all day making for great rock fishing. Limits of rockfish with Donna getting these jackpot lingcod and Sheepshead.

Feb 16 1/2 day charter with Bruce, Devin and Kyle from Colorado. They were out for Devin's hockey tournament and found time to come out for some fishing. Limits of Rockfish and a nice bonito. Hope to see them back this summer for some Tuna fishing.

February 15 1/2 day Charter with Keith and his son Ian from Pennsylvania. Beautiful day on the water with good yellowtail and rock fishing. Ian handled this 20lb yellowtail like a pro!

February 12 1/2 day Charter with Julie, David and Her Dad Joe. Great day of rock fishing was even better for Joe who was out on vacation from Boston where they had 8 feet of snow. I think he really enjoyed our 80 degree weather. We sent them home with a nice bag of assorted rock fish including this nice red.

February 7,2015 half day charter with Keith and his friends from Phoenix. Another beautiful winter day in San Diego with great fishing for lingcod, red rockfish and a nice 14 lb yellowtail. Kevin fishes fresh water in AZ, but this was his first deep sea fishing trip. They were having such a good time that they extended the trip to a 3/4 day. We finished the day with a rare sighting of a pod of Orcas.

January 7, 2015 Half day Charter to the Los Coronados Islands. Mike and Erica brought their family from Wisconsin out for a rock fishing trip. Beautiful warm/calm winter day, air temp 75 and water 63degrees. Filled the bait tank right away with mackerel we made in San Diego Bay and headed down to the islands in search of Yellowtail and rockfish. Lindsey won the jackpot with a nice 10lb sheepshead! We finished the day with a big haul of Reds, whitefish and sheepshead.

1/2 day charter Dec. 27, 2014 Sean and his family came out for an after Christmas charter. Beautiful day but the offshore winds kept us from making it down to the Islands. Fished Point Loma kelp and up to La Jolla for some bonito, sheepshead and rockfish. Finished the day with Halibut drifts at the mouth of San Diego bay.

Great December day on the water with Paul from Ohio and his friend Chris, a SD local. Went to the Islands for a mixed bag of rockfish and ended the day with a nice Yellowtail. 67 degree water and 70 degree air temp. Waters clean, clear and blue at the Coronado's. Looking forward to great fishing all winter.

Robert came out for his 3rd trip of the season. We ran into a kelp patty holding a big school of dorado and had a wide open bite for about an hour.

Oct. 10th, we landed 175 lb striped marlin. Joe and his friends caught this one In about a 1 hour fight. We dropped it off at Fisherman's Processing to be smoked.

Aug 25, 2014. Nathan and Allison with some dorado and yellow fin tuna from a 9 hour offshore trip.

Aug. 23,2014 Andrew came out for the 2nd time this year for some offshore tuna fishing. His friend caught a nice 17lb yellowtail at the islands on are way back in after catching tuna all morning offshore.

August 21 2014 Michelle and Her family from Washington came out for a morning 1/2 day trip to the Los Coronados Islands. Really fun fishing with the girls catching their first yellowtail!
