The Salinas First Mayor’s House has created an online platform for our programs, including a virtual field trip! firstmayorshouse.wixsite.com -Visit the Salinas First Mayor’s House website for teacher and student resources, video stories, history talks, and the House tour ‘ These make perfect links for student use during distance learning! ... -Learn about Salinas history and the groups who contributed to the development of our community. -Access Tell Me Grandpa, a story of Salinas history through the eyes of I.J. Harvey, our first mayor, and his granddaughter, Florence Baker. (audio/visual and pdf versions) -Utilize lessons ideas aligned to CCSS for ELA, ELD, History, Social Studies. QUESTIONS?? We look forward to seeing you all as soon as the TAMC project at the Train Station Plaza is completed and the COVID restrictions are lifted. We are currently creating a LOT of online materials for students and teachers to enjoy this fall.

Join us at the House on Friday, September 1 for the unveiling of our new gallery exhibit "In Admiration of Salinas- Florence Baker Remembers" created by Lilly Vaughan and Deborah Silguero. Time is 5-7:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. You will be delighted with our improved exhibit space and the new presentation!!!
Summer is here and the First Mayor's House has extended hours for the community! We will be open - Every Tuesday and Thursday from 11a.m.-1p.m. - First Fridays with tours, wine and other good things to eat/drink. (5:30-7:30 p.m.) ... - We were already open on the first Saturday but plan to add the second Saturday each month from 10-2 p.m. Come on down for a visit and bring your family and friends.
