Recently, we received a heart-warming donation from Marian, a new member of the BSA Troop 688. Thank you Marian & everyone that contributed to her first donation drive! Items donated included essential needs such as bedsheets, disinfecting products, & non-perishable foods.
ATTENTION: Family Supportive Housing is in need of bedding essentials. We are running low on things such as pillows, bedding sheets, and other items. If you can, please consider making a donation through our Amazon Shelter Wish List https://www.amazon.com///ls/3TS9SZLRTM3SR/ref=hz_ls_biz_ex
To continue honoring #womenshistorymonth, we wanted to highlight a recent family who successfully transitioned into their two-bedroom apartment. As a single mother, this woman and her three children sought refuge from domestic violence in our Shelter. During her stay, our case managers helped her set goals & guide her towards finding housing. Her daughter also shared with us she enjoyed the security, great food, and friends she made during their stay. We are so proud of her resiliency!
Recently, @Her.Drive was kind enough to donate a number of hygiene products to our Shelter. Huge shoutout to Anja, Chloe, Maria and the rest of the team for their donation! Here’s a picture of all the products they donated.
Last week, our very own Naomi Collins, set up an activity through our Health & Wellness Program called "Ants on a Log" where children in our Shelter were asked to create healthy snacks using celery as their vegetable. Yummy!
Anney, one of our Homework Enrichment Program (HEP) volunteers, had the opportunity to help one of our students with a school project that earned her an A+. Here’s what she had to say about her accomplishment. Thank you for your service Anney!
