Take a look at this sweet video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdETA6CF7n8 - it is illustrative of several postural and Pilates principles.... Your head weighs approximately 10 to 12 pounds, equivalent to the weight of a medium-sized bowling ball. When it is not well-supported and centered on your body, look at the impact it can have on your center of gravity! Can you grow in your awareness of where your head and neck are relative to the rest of your body on a daily basis? As the little monk tips over, also notice how he automatically responds to try to stabilize his body. Sometimes his core fires right away and he stays pretty much upright. Other times, all his limbs flail, extend, and grow tense to catch and right himself. Think about how when you get off balance and your core doesn't respond, you generate tension in other parts of your body to create stability, causing tightness and stiffness in your limbs and shoulders and decreasing your range of movement. Also think about how sleep-deprived the majority of us are and how this can affect our efficiency, tension levels, and emotional state. Just making it a priority to get enough sleep every day could really make a difference in your outlook on life and how capable you feel to deal with life's daily challenges. Commit yourself to getting 30 minutes to 1 hour additional sleep each night, and see how it makes you feel!

Just attended TRX Sports Medicine Suspension Training Course at the TRX Training Center in San Francisco. I highly recommend this course for those who are interested in learning how to use this incredibly versatile, portable piece of equipment to not only train for strength and fitness, but also for flexibility, mind-body connection, injury rehabilitation and prevention. TRX - it's functional, it's full body, and it's all core, all of the time! Find out more at: https://www.trxtraining.com//trx-sports-medicine-suspensio
