Week 4 Stars of the Week are in! 3rd Star: Danny Gomez (Snipers) Danny completed a hat trick with the OT winner against the Hardways on Monday night. He leads his team in points now with 7 in 4 games.... 2nd Star: Alex Bisnieks (Bobcats) After strong consideration for the past 2 weeks, Alex finally cracks the 3 stars with a 2 goal, 3 assist performance in a hard fought 6-4 win over the Sneaky Indians on Sunday night. 1st Star: Brett Olinger (Underdawgs) Without a doubt the best performance of the week was Brett's 5 goals and 2 assists against the Hitmen late on Sunday night. His 7 points paced the undefeated Underdawgs to a big 11-6 win. Well done everyone.
3 Stars of the Week! (Week 3) 3rd Star: Vincent Apostol (La Puck Dodgers) Vincent scored 2 goals along with 2 assists in a hard fought 6-4 win over the Hardways on Tuesday night. The Dodgers have now started the season a perfect 4-0.... 2nd Star: Gabe Cablayan (Flames) Gabe potted 4 goals and added an assist in a huge 8-3 win over the Thirsty Niners on Sunday. The Flames have started the season on fire improving to 3-0 after missing the playoffs in the Winter. 1st Star: Derek Newton (Hitmen) The Hitmen got their first win of the season in a big way on Sunday night beating the Sneaky Indians handily 10-2. Derek had a huge night with 3 goals and 4 assists to lead the way. Nice work everyone. See you all next week!
Here are you 3 stars of the week for Week 2: 3rd Star: Taylor Castle (Sneaky Indians) Taylor scored 2 goals and added 3 assists in a high-scoring game against the Zambonis Sunday afternoon. Down 6-2 in the 3rd, the Sneaky Indians scored 3 quick goals to pull within 1 before allowing an empty net goal to end a hard fought 7-5 loss.... 2nd Star: Steve Bunting (Underdawgs) Steve led the Underdawgs to a big 6-4 win over the Riverfrogs by scoring 3 goals and adding an assist late Sunday night. The Underdawgs now sit second behind the Zams in the Silver divsion. 1st Star: Michael Mowrey (Knights) Michael scored a 2nd period natural hattrick and assisted on another goal in a dominating 7-3 win for the Knights over the Diablos on Tuesday night. The Knights will need to carry this confidence into a tough week 3 matchup vs the Bullies. Nice week everybody!
*** GAMES OF THE WEEK ** Gold: Thirsty Niners vs Winged Wheelers - Sunday 8:45pm A rematch of the Winter season Gold final. The Niners looked strong against the Pirates in week 1 and will be looking for redemption after losing last season's final to the Wheelers in 2 consecutive games.... Silver: Sneaky Indians vs Zambonis - Sunday 4:15 The Sneaky Indians introduced themselves to the Silver division with an offensive explosion in a win over the Riverfrogs last week. They will have their work cut out for them however against a strong two-way team like the Zambonis this week. Bronze: South Bay Bullies vs Iceholes - Tuesday 9:45 Having made the Bronze division final 2 seasons in a row, it is no secret how dangerous a team the Bullies can be. They will look to bounce back after a disappointing week 1 loss against newcomers, Iceholes on Tuesday night. Good luck to all teams!
The Summer 2014 EWAL season got started this past weekend and included some standout performances. Here are the 3 stars of the week! 3rd Star: Cody McDonagh (Pirates) Despite being outshot 40-12, the Pirates salvaged a point on Sunday night due in large part to Cody's 38 save performance in the 2-1 OT loss to the Thirsty Niners.... 2nd Star: Wes + Bryce Keizer (Sneaky Indians) The Keizer brothers combined for 5 goals and 6 assists in a big 10-2 win over the Riverfrogs Sunday afternoon. They currently sit 1st and 2nd in Silver division scoring. 1st Star: Mike Nametz (LA Puck Dodgers) Mike scored 6 of the Puck Dodger's 7 goals on Tuesday night to lead them to a 7-3 win over the Hardways. The team has started the season 2-0, outscoring their opponents 15-7 due in large part to Mike's efforts. Great first set of games everyone, see you next week!
