The LFL has been fixed but is in need of books. Please drop some by after cleaning off your bookshelves this cooler weekend.

The Little Free Library got vandalized again. If you see something, say something. Repairs are on the way. Thanks to two kind souls who repaired it upon themselves when it was vandalized before.

Check out the new Little Free Library at the park! Take a book and leave a book. Thanks to Rotary, First 5 Shasta, City of Redding Recreation, and Thrivent Financial.

Here is what you can do today: Call Senator Rob Portman 202-224-3353 614-469-6774... Tell him that House leader Mitch McConnell must call the Senate back to session to bring these House-passed bills to a vote: H.R. 8: Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019-passed the House in February, this would prohibit most person to person sales unless a background check can be performed (closing the gun show loophole) H.R. 1112 Bipartisan Background Checks Act-this extends the background wait time to 10 days that dealers/shops must wait. Currently, if they have not heard back from the system within 3 days, they can proceed with the sale. This was also passed by the House in February but has not been taken up for a vote by the Senate. -also- Renew the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994-this was the federal legislation that banned the manufacturer and sale of assault-style weapons to civilians that lapsed in 2004.
