It's Whiskers and Wags with.... drumroll... Naomi! Greetings! Bet you didn't even see me there! I'm Naomi. I find it's best to curl up in a ball and wait for snuggles to come to me. I've been practicing with my friends, and I'm getting better at the head bonk, the face smoosh, even the elevator butt! So far I haven't practiced them outside of my box since the shelter is kind of scary, but maybe one day I'll have a quiet home where I can work on perfecting my snuggle repertoir...e. I hear there's this thing called a couch that is practically made for them. For now, I'd be happy to show you what I got from here. Want to know more about working with cats like me? We offer an on-demand online course! Check out our Hisses to Kisses webinar! https://eastbayspca.learnworlds.com/course #whiskersandwags

There's still time to donate and support our youth education programs like our upcoming Smooches for Pooches Drive-Thru event! Through our various programs, local youth learn about the importance of having compassion for all living things and of making a difference in the community. We also offer scholarships and free events (including Smooches for Pooches) to ensure our programming is accessible to all youth in our community. Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far! #valentine #givelocal #feelgoodfriday

Hi! Rocky here. I’m a big, fun loving, happy-go-lucky guy who LOVES playing fetch and prancing around the play yard! The staff and volunteers here at the East Bay SPCA have been working with me on my training and I already know many of the basics like: sit, stay, down, come, and paw. I enjoy the company of other dogs and wouldn't mind having a doggie sibling to play with who can match my energy. Think we’d be a good match? Mention me on your application at eastbayspca.org/adoptions/how-to-adopt.

We recently received this happy update from Leila's (formerly Chiquis) adopters: "She is adapting well and loving her home with us. Our family simply adores her - she is so sweet! We have taken her to several dog parks and she enjoys running and socializing with other dogs!" #adoptdontshop #tongueouttuesdays #happytails

We are so excited the first-ever rescue dog is heading to the White House! We hope this will continue to encourage more people to think about adopting before shopping when looking to add a pet to their family. Thanks to ABC7 News for including us in this story and featuring two of our adoptable German Shepherds, Mowgli and Jamie! https://abc7news.com//bidens-rescue-dog-could-be-/7807523/

We are so thrilled to hear that recently adopted 15 year old cat, Haruna, has adjusted very well in her new home! Her adopter had this to say, "She makes the sweetest expressions, is super talkative and seems to like us both. I think she admires my husband more though. She's a confident, sweet, energetic, and feisty gal! She is our little quarantine queen and makes our days more enjoyable during COVID-19." Have you adopted a senior pet? Tell us what you love most about them during Adopt a Senior Pet Month! #adoptdontshop #seniorpets #happytails

It's National Animal Shelter Appreciation week and we are celebrating with our 1,000th (and 1,001st!) adoption since mid-March when Shelter in Place began! Despite operational challenges experienced due to COVID-19, we have continued performing all of our life saving programs and are excited to celebrate this impressive milestone. Chocolate Chip and Snickerdoodle's adopter fell in love with them at our recent Meow & Howl-o-ween Drive Thru, applied to adopt, and took them home today. Thanks to everyone who has adopted through our appointment-based process and to all our staff and volunteers for their dedication to helping 1,001 animals find their new homes! #adoptdontshop #feelgoodfriday
