Please message the Event Host (DUI - Jack Der) or any of the DUI staff to request a breakout room session. Description: This year marks the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica. Despite two centuries of exploration, Antarctica remains one of the least explored parts of our planet. There is no doubt that understanding dynamic polar environments is critical to the survival of our world as we know it today. During this presentation, we will take you to the frozen continent of the south and give you a small taste of these unique environments and the ecosystems that depend ...on them. We will also show the key differences between the Arctic ice cap and Antarctic continent. Faith has spent most of her adult life in the ocean. With over 41 years of diving, Faith has done over 6000 dives spanning technical diving, scientific diving, volunteering as public a safety diver, and recreational diving around the world. She worked with DUI to develop the first women’s drysuits while still a dive retailer in Massachusetts. As a former Vice-President of DUI, she led DUI's sale team for over 15 years while creating the DUI DEMO TOUR, which promoted local diving while allowing divers to test dive DUI products, and the DIVEOPS program which promotes education about the risks of diving in contaminated water and how to develop appropriate risk management programs for public safety and scientific divers. She is currently leading expeditions around the world to some of the most remote places on Earth including multiple expeditions to both poles. Recently, she co-founded Blue Green Expeditions and now runs expeditions full time as she continues to share her passion for diving with divers from around the world. A frequent presenter at dive shows and conferences, she is a 2010 inductee into the Women Divers Hall of Fame and a member of the Boston Sea Rovers. Congratulations Graduates! Back in February, UC Santa Cruz held a field quarter in Sitka, Alaska where undergraduate students conducted their own independent research projects. We wanted to thank you for keeping us dry and safe throughout this adventure with our DUI drysuits.
