Surfing has long been linked to the wrong season. The image of surfing as a Summer activity already puts an incorrect image in people's minds about the experience. Surfing is not always warm water and hot sun, it's also running across the cold sand in a rubber wetsuit because the fifty-something degree water will feel warmer than the ice cold sand does. https://almondsurfboards.com//hot-take-surfing-should-be-r
We added a second longboard to the Raffle to raise money for our sister. 2 people will win a longboard next Friday. 9'6 Lumberjack and 9'4 Balsa Surf Thump. https://almondsurfboards.com//surfboard-raffle-96-lumberja
5 star review from Heather K.: "8'0" Joy and 5'4" Secret Menu - I bought both the R-Series Joy and Secret Menu on the buy-one, get-one half price deal. Really happy with both, so much fun. I surf the Joy whenever the waves are smaller, which has been most of the time over the last few months. Paddles nearly as well as my very thick 9'8" log, but gives way more control on the wave. Turns surprisingly well and very user friendly in all conditions that I've taken it out i...n (from about 6" up-to chest high). If you can surf without a leash an not lose your board every other wave it's worth doing. I can't so I have damaged the rail close to the tail a little as my leash got wrapped around it as I fell. It hasn't changed the way it surfs and I'm keeping the leash on there for my enjoyment and everyone else's safety. I've only taken the Secret Menu out a handful of times. It's by far the shortest and smallest board I've ever surfed (next smallest is fairly chunky 6'6" short board). Paddles reasonably well given how small it is and stable when popping up. It's probably a little beyond my skill level (surfing 3-4 times a week for the last 4 years, mostly on mid-length and longboards), but definitely managed to get a few. Really looking forward to using this in summer for family days at the beach and tryin to use it to improve my surfing. Also love how you can leave the boards in the car on a hot day and have no issues with wax. Love the boards and excited to get my son out on them both when he's a little older. The primary goal of any novice surfer is to find a surfboard that will enable them to catch waves with confidence, get to their feet regularly, and feel in-control of the surfboard beneath their feet. The R-Series Joy is the best surfboard for the entry-level surfer, and here are 7 reasons why. https://almondsurfboards.com//the-r-series-joy-is-the-best
You may or may not know, but our sister Megan runs the back end of this surfboard business, and never skipped a beat during her chemo treatments last year. In July, Megan was told she was officially "cancer free", but as she was soon to learn, not everyone's body bounces back from chemo the same way and she would have another battle ahead of her. Ever since chemo ended, she has required an injection every 3 weeks that serves as her immune system until her body decides to wake... up to producing its own white blood cells again. Yesterday she was informed that insurance would no longer be covering the costs of her treatment (effective 5 months ago). We put together a GoFundMe to help Megan, Kyle, and Teddy so they can continue to pay for her treatments. https://www.gofundme.com//post-cancer-treatment-for-megan-

Clothing, when approached properly is basically geargear you need it to go out and do the things you like to do. Gear should perform well and last a long time. Clothing, specifically should fit well and serve the activities you have set forth for the day. The Outerknown product checks all the boxesit's well made, uses organic fabrics, looks timeless, and feels like it is built to last. https://almondsurfboards.com/blogs/news/welcome-outerknown
Above all else, we wanted our second installment in the "R" series to double-down on our commitment to maximizing the enjoyment of our customers, and maximizing the conditions we encounter most frequentlytwo feet and firing. https://almondsurfboards.com/blogs/news/why-the-joy
Special Recipe Fish(es). When discussing you would never say fishes, but when discussing surfboards Iām always tempted to pluralize it. Which is correct: two 5ā6 Special Recipe fish, or two 5ā6 Special Recipe Fishes?? #specialrecipefish
Surfboards make great wall decorthan can be pulled down and enjoyed. The wall is also a great way to stash surfboards in a way that minimizes the space they take up. When hanging a surfboard on the wallwhether horizontal or verticalit's important to ensure it's secure and tasteful. https://almondsurfboards.com//best-way-to-hang-a-surfboard
Growing up a longboarder, I am not nearly as familiar with the nuances of surf leashes as I probably should be. However, between rocks, crowds, and long paddle-outs, a leash can be a real handy thing to extend your surf session, maximize your wave count, and ensure the safety of those around you. If you take a look at the offerings of any major surf leash brand, you are likely to notice they... ... https://almondsurfboards.com/blogs//pro-leash-vs-comp-leash
The rounded rail has a tremendous impact on the way the board travels across the face of a wave... allowing more fluid movement than a board that had a glued seam for a rail. https://almondsurfboards.com//ne/round-rails-on-surfboards
