Diablo Regional Arts Association 01.04.2021

One year ago, the Lesher Center for the Arts was full of East Bay elementary school students for our Arts Access performances by Story Pirates. These snapshots from January 28, 2020 capture the joyful day - you can almost hear the gleeful voices echoing throughout the building! What's your #LCALove memory?

This week, the arts took center stage on a national level. You can help ensure the arts take center stage right here at home in the East Bay at the Lesher Center for the Arts through our Pave the Way campaign! https://mailchi.mp/draa/spotlight #PavetheWayLCA

Allow art to lead the way through this season and provide a semblance of normalcy. - https://mailchi.mp/draa/cf-dec We miss being with you at the Lesher Center for the Arts. In the lobby at intermission, perusing the Bedford Gallery, excitedly walking up after having dinner nearby... we miss it all! Please tune in to these upcoming virtual programs in support of Lesher Center producers that continue to adapt and create art for all of us.

There is no denying the grave impacts of COVID-19 on the arts industry. This #GivingTuesday, we encourage you to consider supporting the Lesher Center for the Arts with a charitable gift through Diablo Regional Arts Association's Pave the Way fundraiser. Your tax-deductible donation will develop innovative artistic programming, provide access to the arts, and help this cultural jewel of Contra Costa gleam again in the future! For additional information or to Pave the Way today, please visit www.draa.org/pave or call (925) 457-2000. Thank you!

We are still humming the beautiful songs we heard over the weekend through Kaiser Permanente High School Notes: A Digital A Cappella Concert. Which song is still stuck in YOUR head? The songs have been timestamped on YouTube: https://go.draa.org/HSNyoutube - please continue to enjoy and share the concert with others!

The Diablo Regional Arts Association (DRAA) and Kaiser Permanente Thrive are committed to safely connecting our community with the healing power of the arts. Modeled after our sell-out College Notes A Cappella program, High School Notes is a new project aimed at outreach and engagement for local high school students, teachers, families, and communities. These East Bay schools provide moving tributes with songs inspired by the gratitude of frontline workers, the importance of ...mental well-being, the need for racial justice and harmony, and the value of hope and resilience. Enjoy the full concert free of charge here (also available on YouTube)! Be on the lookout for familiar faces from our region! Acalanes High School, College Park High School Choirs, Concord High School (California), Contra Costa School of Performing Arts, De Anza High School/DeAnza High School, Monte Vista High School Choir, Northgate High School, and San Ramon Valley High School This digital concert is directed and emceed by Deke Sharon, producer of NBC’s The Sing Off and Universal Studios Hollywood’s three Pitch Perfect movies. DRAA is delighted to welcome back NBC Bay Area’s Marcus Washington as host for the evening. High School Notes would not be possible without the vision of Executive Producer and DRAA board member, Peters Suh. Please consider a donation to support programs like High School Notes and the music departments of these participating high schools (PayPal: https://go.draa.org/PayPal GoFundMe: https://go.draa.org/GoFundMe).
