Diver Dan's Dive Club

Ok. I’m all for teachable moments. I made a huge mistake that I would like to share with you all. I bought a couple 2 SAFT AA 3.6V 2400MAH Lithium Batteries for my Perdex. For some reason I got in my head that this was a rechargeable battery, well it is not. It clearly says this on the battery and the Amazon description. This morning I was on a conference call, I removed the battery from my Perdex and placed it on the charger on my desk. About 20 minutes in to the mee...ting the battery exploded filling the house with smoke. People on the conference call thought it was a gun shot. I sent the photos to a dive buddy and called him. He told me, You dumb ass the SAFT batteries are not rechargeable I told him that they are. Then he read the warning label on the battery to me. Going forward I will be reading the warning labels and instructions very closely and hope you will too. Lesson learned

WHO NEEDS A FILL? In compliance with Phase 2 of the SIP order we are currently allowed to perform curb side drop off and pick up. We will be able to fill your scuba tanks with air or Nitrox, as long as they are within current hydro and visual specifications and the Nitrox tanks are oxygen clean for 100% oxygen. We are currently experiencing a 1-day turn around on all tank fills.
