In today’s Gospel Jesus challenges us to stay awake by taking time to seriously look at ourselves, the priorities of our lives, and how we are growing spiritually. Ask yourself, What would Jesus Christ do? Consider working with us, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, to help the poor and the homeless. Or perhaps you could help others this Thanksgiving by donating to the Food Pantry Ministry? You could also offer up prayers for our less fortunate brothers and sisters in our community.
In the Gospel today, we hear the good news that when we keep our focus on God and serve one another, God exalts us! Are you interested in serving one another? Are you seeking to grow in holiness through service? We are looking for volunteers who have ideas on helping our brothers and sisters in need! Contact us by Direct Message (DM)
In this Sunday’s Gospel we find the truth that loving God isn’t merely a matter of fervor in our hearts, but that it must be expressed in doing good for the sake of others. Please assist the parish’s new Food Pantry Ministry to help feed the poor in our community! Look for their notice in the parish bulletin.
In the Gospel today Jesus says: Repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what belongs to God. When God is the center of our lives there is no problem with giving others their due. Through your prayers and donations, you are helping your neighbor who is hungry, hopeless and frightened to know that they belong to God.
