Carolyn Diacos and Monica McGrath of Diacos Law attended the meeting of the Rotary Club of Camarillo this morning. Commander Dave Murray from the Ventura County Sheriff's Department gave an informative speech and discussed tactics to survive an active shooter following the massacre that occurred Sunday in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. ... Thank you to the First Responders and the concert goers who selflessly helped those around them.

Carolyn Diacos, donors, staff members and handlers associated with the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation celebrated the Grand Opening of the National Training Center. The mission of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation is to strengthen disaster response in America by recruiting rescued dogs and partnering them with firefighters and other first responders to find buried people alive in the wreckage of disasters. The foundation recruits dogs from across the country... that are rescued from abuse or abandonment. After passing stringent screening and testing criteria, the dogs are trained to harness their energy into life-saving skills. The location of the National Training Center is nestled on a 125 acres ranch in Santa Paula, California. With 125 acres of "Doggie Disneyland," as the Handlers call it, the National Training Center is a desirable and accommodating destination for Canine Disaster Search Teams from around the world. Before the National Training Center, there was no single site that provided dynamic search scenarios that consistently challenge Handlers and Search Dogs alike. Carolyn Diacos is training for the trail marathon, Red Rock, in an effort to raise money for the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation. The trail run occurs on November 25, 2017. Carolyn believes, "There is something special about rescued dogs and First Responders to come together to form a life-saving resource. These dogs were in New York on 911 and currently two teams are in Mexico City following the deadly 7.2 magnitude earthquake."

Carolyn Diacos and Monica McGrath had the privilege to attend Hope and Harvest in support of Interface Children and Family Services. In 2016, Monica McGrath was awarded the Interface Domestic Violence Champion of Change Award. Diacos Law is a proud supporter of Interface Children and Family Services.
