False. Spasmodic dysphonia is not contagious at all, but it has led to a lot of unnecessary social isolation for patients. There is a possibility it could be inherited; otherwise, spasmodic dysphonia is not something that will pass from one person to another by the means of communication. - https://www.madisonrichardsonmd.com/services/ #FactVSFiction #SpasmodicDysphonia #HealthTips #TipoftheDay

The treatment plan for a patient depends on a number of factors, including the exact location of the tumor, the stage of cancer, and the person’s age and general health. This year’s World Mental Health Day, on October 10th, comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The past months have brought many challenges: for health-care workers, providing care in difficult circumstances, going to work fearful of bringing COVID-19 home with them; for students, adapting to taking classes from home, with little contact with teachers and friends, and anxious about their futures; for workers whose li...velihoods are threatened; for the vast number of people caught in poverty or in fragile humanitarian settings with extremely limited protection from COVID-19; and for people with mental health conditions, many experiencing even greater social isolation than before. - On Mental Health Awareness Day and everyday, let's work together as one to spread the word of Kindness in times like this! #MentalHealth #WorldMentalHealthDay #Kindness

Not all cases of hearing loss are preventable. However, there are several steps that you can take to protect your hearing: Use safety equipment if you work in areas with loud noises, and wear earplugs when you swim and go to concerts. Have regular hearing tests if you work around loud noises, swim often, or go to concerts on a regular basis. Avoid prolonged exposure to loud noises and music.... Seek help for ear infections. They may cause permanent damage to the ear if they’re left untreated #HealthTips #HealthyLiving #HearingLoss

September is Sepsis Awareness Month. Every September we invite individuals, healthcare professionals, and other organizations to help raise awareness of the leading cause of deaths in U.S. hospitals SEPSIS. Sepsis is the body’s life-threatening response to infection that affects 1.7 million people and takes 270,000 lives in the U.S. every year. We want everyone in your community to know the signs and symptoms of sepsis, so no one has to suffer from this life-threatening condition. Together we can make this happen.

Cancers that are known collectively as head and neck cancers usually begin in the squamous cells that line the moist, mucosal surfaces inside the head and neck (for example, inside the mouth, the nose, and the throat). Head and neck cancers can also begin in the salivary glands, but salivary gland cancers are relatively uncommon. Salivary glands contain many different types of cells that can become cancerous, so there are many different types of salivary gland cancer. Cancer...s of the head and neck are further categorized by the area of the head or neck in which they begin. These areas are described below and labeled in the image of head and neck cancer regions. - Set up an appointment today at (310) 360-9520 See more

Fact. Hearing loss might be irreversible but it can definitely be helped. Amplification with hearing aids is by far the most recommended and effective treatment for hearing loss. In fact, 90-95% of people with hearing loss can be treated with hearing aids. Custom programmed by a trained professional, today’s digital hearing aids can help people with even severe hearing loss hear sounds they might not otherwise hear, and be a part of things they might otherwise miss. - https://www.madisonrichardsonmd.com/book-appointment/
