We are proud to present one our special guest speakers at this year's Fins & Fabrics Aerial & Underwater Retreat in October... we are welcoming the ultimate alpine mermaid to Hawaii! Marina, raised in the green mountains of Vermont, developed a love for the outdoors and environmentalism at a young age. She founded Waste-Free Earth, a full-service sustainability company focusing on sustainability consulting for music festivals and other special events after she realized t...he adverse effects her actions were having on the environment. From traveling, going to music festivals, outdoor activities, and everyday life, she noticed something had to change. Marina prefers to lead by example and show people that switching over to a more waste-free lifestyle doesn't have to be difficult or break the bank. She loves empowering individuals to eliminate single-use plastic's out of their everyday life and switch to reusable products instead. Through relatable advice and actions, Marina hopes to inspire everyone to make a positive difference in his or her daily lives, no matter how big or small it may be, we all can aspire to live a more waste-free type of lifestyle. Marina agrees with us that "mermaiding" is far more about environmental awareness and ocean conservation, than anything! And, she just happens to but nuts about aerial silks as well! Sarah E.
