Dr. Aziz would like to remind every woman that breast cancer does not pause for a pandemic, hurricane, brushfire, or tornado. Women must stand tall despite it all and take charge of their health! "The best protection from breast cancer is early detection by screening mammogram. Early detection can save your life, my life and every woman’s life." - Dr. Khadija Aziz
In these extraordinary times, it’s more important than ever to be kind to yourself and make self-care a priority. Excessive stress can lead to an increase in a variety of health problems and depression, but self-care helps to sharpen mental and physical health, betters self-esteem, helps with stress management and leads to better wellbeing overall. Self-care doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. Self-care is not self-indulgent. Self-care is not selfish. Here are a few ways to incorporate self-care into your daily life.
Today we come together to honor all of those who have served, and continue to serve our great country. Thank you for your sacrifice and service.
Happy Halloween! Wishing everyone a safe and fun day!
First-degree family history of breast cancer dramatically increases your risk of cancer. Although family history can’t be changed, it's important to stay knowledgeable and updated about it.
"Women at a higher risk for breast cancer, should begin their screening mammograms at an earlier age, approximately ten years prior to the first degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) who was diagnosed pre-menopausal. In addition both genetic risk assessment and testing should be obtained." Dr. Tchaiko Parris
3D Mammography is the state of the art mammogram technology that improves our ability to detect breast cancers. It has some distinct advantages over conventional 2D mammograms, most notably is its ability to create a 3D or volumetric image of the breast. If a 2D mammogram is like looking at the floor plan of a home, then a 3D mammogram allows you to open the doors and look inside, affording a more detailed evaluation. Dr. Jason McKellop
You're more powerful than you think! Sending encouragement to all those who need it.
It’s National Mammography Day! We want to remind you to take a moment to schedule your annual screening mammogram and encourage your loved ones to do the same. Early detection saves lives! #RadNet #NationalMammographyDay
Remind your friends and family members how important yearly mammograms are! According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the United States today. It is the second leading cause of death among women after lung cancer.
Today we stand with the Metastatic Breast Cancer community. An estimated 154,000+ women are currently living with metastatic breast cancer in the United States. While this disease is terminal and cannot be cured, it is not hopeless. Because of improved treatments many women can live long, productive lives for many years with this type of cancer. There are a wide variety of treatment options and new medicines are being tested every day.
Thank you Dr. Hession for sharing this important message with women. "Early detection of breast cancer with annual mammography remains our most powerful tool in the fight against breast cancer in women." - Dr. Mariela Hession... #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection
There are several symptoms that can occur in women with breast cancer. Experiencing one or more of these breast symptoms does not mean you have cancer. However, women should be aware of symptoms and changes in their breasts to enable early detection of breast cancer.
We might be wearing masks these days, but they can’t hide our smile! As we celebrate 'World Smile Day' we are encouraging you to #SmileWithYourEyes!
Early detection saves lives, a message that is important every month of the year!
