Hi ACM Cyber! It's officially week 8 and it's time for another membership spotlight! This week we have Jessica "Marching" Lam! She is a computer science major who got into cyber security back in high school after joining a cybersecurity club and was thrown into an Ubuntu VM. She had to self teach Ubuntu to herself through Google and intuition. The competition and puzzle-like problems in cybersecurity is what got her interested in the field along with the impact that it could ...have on so many people all around the world. She also has an interest in art and was in marching band all four years of high school(with some solo performances floating around). Her advice is not look at cyber security as a daunting thing and to instead to just keep learning and feel good about all the things you are learning in the moment rather than worrying about not being able to learn enough!
