Today I met with an inspiring group of small business owners. We know that they have been hit hard in this pandemic. That’s why President Joe Biden and I are taking immediate action to help small businesses because they power our economy, and they need relief.

Looks like we better submit an RFP for this!

Here is a reality check on how Covid has impacted the business community. Currently we have two office locations. Our corporate office in Marin County, and a sales office in Placer County. Our Roseville location is part of a shared workspace operated by Regus with over fifty individual office suites. Back in February of 2018 there were twenty one businesses at this location. As of today there are just twelve.... Please help support small businesses during these trying times. We are all in this together.

Coronavirus Unemployment Fraud: EDD Data Reveals 30,000 Addresses With 10+ Unemployment Claims

Yet our investigation identified that this month alone 20 different Social Security numbers were mailed to a single address in California. Well done state of California for protecting peoples identities!

Not everything we do at C&W is insurance related. Sometimes we help with other fraud related matters. Just recently we were asked to investigate suspected EDD fraud. Based on our preliminary investigation, before turning it over to law-enforcement, we identified over 20 individuals all using the same address netting almost $70,000 in unemployment benefits. Unfortunately, fraud is so rampant in California right now that federal prosecutors will not look at anything less than $1 million in theft.

With COVID-19 being accepted as a presumptive injury in the State of California, companies like ours will be more involved than ever in identifying potential outside factors, pre-existing respiratory conditions, and information that could help mitigate the claim. Not everybody will be checking in on social media when their dining out, traveling, or attending large gatherings where they could possibly expose themselves or others. But just one case alone could potentially save... your clients hundreds of thousands of dollars in future medical.
