COLLEGE OF THE CANYONS IS RANKED 28TH IN THE NATION!!! As I'm sure you all remember, last semester difficult for everyone, including the COC Model United Nations team. As we were driving to TrojanMUN, the conference hosted by USC, the sky behind us was literally filling up with smoke as a result of the fires. Throughout the conference, our delegates were checking to see if their friends and families were safe. Then, right before SBIMUN, the conference hosted by UC Santa Barb...ara, the shootings at Saugus High School happened. Many of our delegates, especially the Saugus High graduates, were shaken. They didn't want to attend SBIMUN. Like a lot of people on campus, they were having trouble focusing. I told them that they were stronger and more resilient than they realized. And so -- with a little grumbling -- we went to the conference. Why am I telling you this? Because the Fall 2019 Model United Nations rankings were just announced and College of the Canyons was ranked 28th in the nation! This is our highest ranking ever. (In case you're interested, UC Santa Barbara was ranked 29th, followed by Notre Dame at 30th).
