Ever reach the front of the line at the Post Office only to be told you need XYZ to prepare your Registered Mail shipment? Never again! Stop here first on your way to the Post Office for help preparing your shipment. As part of the security steps, USPS employees are prohibited from helping prepare or seal packages. The countdown has begun. Less than a week until tax date! This year, the date is extended to Monday, April 18th. Your tax return must be postmarked by that day to be considered on time. Know your options: Certificate of Mailing Service: ... Have evidence that you sent your tax return. Get an official record showing the date your tax return was accepted. This service is only available at the Post Office. Certified Mail Service: Get a receipt that shows when your tax return was delivered or when delivery was attempted. Combine with Return Receipt to get a record showing who signed for your tax return.

A historic price decrease is scheduled for April 10th. For the first time in 97 years, USPS is lowering the price of the First Class stamp. Postage for a one-ounce envelope will drop to 47 cents instead of 49 cents. Passport news update: Do I need a passport for domestic flights? Right now, no individual needs to adjust travel plans, or rush out to get a new driver’s license or a passport for domestic air travel. Until January 22, 2018, residents of all states will still be able to use a state-issued driver’s license or identification card for domestic air travel.
