Farmer Tiffany is hanging out at the vending machine until 6 or so in her fancy mobile office. She will trade eggs for a cold Barrel Brothers Brewing Company beer.

It's a good news, rough news and then good news kind of day! It's Thursday, our favorite day of the week because it's sale day at the vending machine. Unfortunately the vending machine is struggling to keep itself cool during these extreme heat waves and the eggs need to be moved into the smaller honor system fridge to the left of the vending machine. ... We really don't want anyone to miss out on our sale day, so once the machine can no longer keep the eggs cool Farmer Tiffany will be hanging out at the machine to make sure everyone gets their eggs! This will probably be from 12-6 while taking a few breaks to check on the animals. And guess what? She will have goose eggs for sale as well! So come on down to 631 Arata Lane in Windsor and take advantage of low prices for pasture raised eggs! #thankyouthursday

Hello friends, our farmers have not had time for social media these last two weeks. But we wanted to check in and let you know we are all doing well considering the current situation. This is not our farmers first fire rodeo and while the farmers are not worried, they are prepared. Be safe.

Hello, my name is Farmer Jason and I'm the other half to Wise Acre Farm. Farmer Tiffany and I, along with 82% of small family farmers, need to bring in an off farm income to make ends meet. So Monday through Friday you will find me managing the wine warehouse at Chalk Hill Winery and when I clock out I head straight to the farm to help my wife collect and process eggs. Two weeks ago Farmer Tiffany asked that I take a week off for a staycation so we can get a few farm projects... done. This girl had me working from 7am to 9pm every day during my "vacation". We demoed the inside of a travel trailer to turn into a brooder for raising chicks, started building a new mobile duck house, moved 250 chicks to their grow out brooder, and of course helped with the daily care for 1,400 chickens, geese, ducks, goats and dogs in the heat of summer. Our 13+ hour days were broken up by one lunch break and we didn't get to have dinner each evening until it was dark. I'm looking forward to going back to work Monday, in my air-conditioned wine warehouse and finally getting to take it easy when I catch up on emails. #farmstorysaturday See more

To celebrate the 2 year farmiversay we are sharing some of the most memorable Farm Story Saturdays with Farmer Tiffany adding a little extra to the story. Enjoy! Hello friends! Happy Farm Story Saturday! Did you know Saturdays are also Parasitic Worm Prevention day? Wait, what?! You didn't know that? Ok y'all, so we chickens get to live outside at this farm. We eat insects, grass, lizards, snakes, frogs and even mice. The farmers also fill feeders daily with grain. This p...roper omnivore diet is the reason the eggs we lay are so tasty. But the wild stuff we eat can give us internal worms. All chickens who are lucky enough to live outside are susceptible to these parasites. A long time ago a man, I think his name was Henjamin Franklin, said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". To prevent parasitic worms our farmers do a rotation of treatments on Saturdays. Sometimes they add garlic powder or diatomaceous earth to our feed. Other times there is apple cider vinegar in our waters. This constant change creates a nonpleasant environment for worms inside our intestines. This keeps us healthy without the use of lab created chemicals. #farmstorysaturday "When we bought this farm there was zero preventative care against parasites such as mites and worms. The first Spring our egg production did not increase as it should and our fatality rate was high with losing roughly 20 birds a month. We had lab work done on some of the birds at UC Davis and they were all given a clean bill of health which really puzzled us. One day I was staring at a deceased bird questioning my life choices of buying a farm and it just clicked, I checked the area at the base of her tail feathers and found mites. We started a very strict regimen of treatments and have been able to stay on top of things since then. Due to this and adding treatment for parasitic worms we have much healthier hens. For example July 2019 we lost 26 hens and July 2020 we lost 3 hens. I'm beyond proud of this!" -Farmer Tiffany

Howdy y'all! I'm the Monster Truck and obviously the muscle behind Wise Acre Farm. The farmers asked that I make a really eggciting hennouncement since my beauty and grace tends to stop folks from scrolling. This week our farmers are celebrating their two year anniversary of owning Wise Acre Farm! We can hardly believe it's already been two years and if you are happy with the not so new owners then you can thank me since the farmers tell me I'm the whole reason they bought t...he farm. Farmer Tiffany thought it would be fun to revisit some of her favorite #farmstorysaturdays all week long while adding a little twist, she will be giving a little more behind the scenes information to each story. The best part of all this?! We will be having a giveaway at the end of next week that supports local businesses in Sonoma County. So make sure to share our posts with your friends this week and keep an eye out for the giveaway! #farmstorysaturday

Our spring Sebastopol goslings are all grown up. Geese can be difficult to sex so we took the easy route and just waited until they grew up. Males are larger than females so going by size it seems we have one male and two females. This brings the Sebastopol geese count to 6, with 2 males and 4 females. For a healthy gaggle it is best to have at least a 2:1 ratio for female vs male. Grateful our breeding worked out in our favor this time.

Our spring chicks our not chicks anymore. We merged them with the main flock last night and in two weeks they should start laying eggs. Have a great Monday!
