Our General Plan Update will be a continuation of Visión Salinas, which initiated in 2017 to coordinate the public outreach and planning efforts in Salinas. The GP requires the inclusion of seven mandatory elements: Land Use, Circulation, Housing, Conservation, Noise, Open Space, Safety and Environmental Justice. The statewide Project Homekey is an effort to protect the state's most vulnerable homeless individuals by housing them in hotels and motels.In August, 2020, the City submitted application to the state’s Project Homekey Program to purchase and convert the Good Nite Inn on Work Street into housing for people experiencing chronic homelessness. The conversion of the Property would result in 101 units of permanent supportive housing for those hardest to house and most in need of ...wrap-around services. El Proyecto Homekey a nivel estatal es un esfuerzo para proteger a las personas sin hogar más vulnerables del estado alojándolos en hoteles y moteles. En agosto de 2020, la Ciudad presentó una solicitud al Programa Project Homekey del estado para comprar y convertir el Good Nite Inn en Work Street en una vivienda para personas sin hogar. La conversión de la propiedad daría como resultado 101 unidades de vivienda de apoyo permanente para las personas más difíciles de alojar y que más necesitan servicios integrales.
