It’s in times of fear that we have the opportunity to respond with faith. Remember the story of Jesus and his disciples in the boat, when the rain pours and the waves crash over the sides (Mark 4:35-41)? The peace of Christ comes in the midst of the storm, not when the tempest is over. We will face these challenging days together, with each other and with the peace of Christ that passes all understanding. In the midst of all that’s happening, let’s be aware of our neighbors... and co-workers, and the ways we may be called to help. One of them may not be able to go to the grocery store; another may be especially fearful; another might need help with child care. All of us can pray: pray for those with the virus and all who love them; pray for those who are living in anxiety and fear; pray for those in the medical community who meet this crisis with courage and commitment every day.
