Northbound I-5 traffic is backed up at I-205 due to a major traffic collision. Traffic is being diverted around the collision in the center median. Avoid the area if possible.

UPDATE******On-Ramp now open Tracy Boulevard on-ramp to W/B I-205 will be closed due to a major traffic collision. Use MacArthur Drive, 11th Street or Grant Line Road as an alternate.

The CHP Tracy Area is investigating a hit and run traffic collision that occurred on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at approximately 2:35 P.M., eastbound I-205, near the Eleventh Street exit. Witnesses described the hit and run vehicle as a maroon or dark colored sedan. The hit and run vehicle made an unsafe lane change in front of a white Ford pickup pulling a trailer. This caused the driver of the Ford pickup to take evasive action, which led to a traffic collision.
