Early this morning, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department revised its mandate: Dentists are NO LONGER permitted to perform routine, preventive dental treatments. Per CDC/ADA/CDA guidelines, only the following will be allowed until further notice: Dental emergency treatment for conditions that are potentially life threatening and require immediate treatment to stop ongoing tissue bleeding, alleviate severe pain or infection and include: Cellulitis or a diffuse soft-tissue bacterial infection with intraoral or extraoral swelling that can potentially compromise the patient's airway. Trauma involving facial bones, potential compromising the patient's airway.

Thanks to all of our patients for their patience during this COVID-19 pandemic! If you are receiving appointment reminders from our automated system, please ignore these. We will be calling each of you personally to reschedule your appointments. We are closed until May 4th to comply with the shelter-in-place order in Santa Clara County. Social distancing guidelines are not sufficient for a dental office due to aerosols generated by dental equipment, so our closure protects our patients and staff. I am available for emergencies that involve infection and swelling that have been present for at least 72 hours. A tele-dentistry appointment for these cases is available via FaceTime at (408) 772-2163. We will be back better than ever once it has been determined that it is safe to do so!

Attended the University of the Pacific Dental School’s annual symposium in Monterey last weekend. We learned about arresting dental decay and new products to improve our methods of treating dental diseases.
