This increased this year by 12% compared to 1.15 billion for three quarters of 2019. These sales include ATVs, side-by-sides, and snowmobile sales. Welcome back to #WildlifeWednesday ! Today we are showcasing the California Desert Tortoise for Desert Tortoise Week! Did you know that this slow, wanderer is California’s State Reptile? These creatures are found around some popular OHV riding areas in the deserts of SoCal. When riding in tortoise habitat remember to: Stay on designated, legal routes: Cross-country travel damages more habitat than any other form of riding. Slow down: You will not be able to recognize young to...rtoises or see adults when traveling through tortoise habitat at high speeds. If you hit a tortoise you will almost certainly kill or severely injure it. Clean your vehicles and gear: Prevent the spread of invasive plants by thoroughly washing vehicles, clothing, and riding gear that may carry seeds from one location to the next. Check under parked vehicles for wildlife before driving away: Wildlife, especially desert tortoises, may use parked vehicles for shade. Stay alert: not many people get to see desert tortoises in the wild, so enjoy the opportunity to watch a desert survivor for a few minutes. It's #Motomonday! Today's post features the Lockley Wrangler, the first-ever UTV created in 1970. It took a process of seven months to build. Originally equipped with a 12 horsepower motor, it was then replaced with a Yamaha 480 snowmobile motor! Inspired by the Argo six-wheelers, these popular machines/UTV’s were able to be operated for most of the year in rain or shine. If you have any photos or experiences with the Lockley Wrangler, comment below!
