You should test your tire pressure each month to make sure all tires are within spec. If your tires are low in pressure, there are several problems that ...could arise: -Reduced Fuel Economy Your vehicle can show a noticeable reduction in fuel efficiency if your tires are under inflated. Watch for a more obvious fuel economy if you run your air conditioner regularly. -Durability and Wear issues If your tire pressure is low in any of your tires, uneven wear on the treads could be a sign. Pay close attention to all four tires for the telltale signs of wear. Uneven wear could change the handling of your car and cause excessive wear on one or more of your tires. -Low Pressure Due To Hot Temperatures Most people do not realize that the recommended tire pressure for your vehicle (as specified in the owner’s manual and the tire placard for the vehicle) are based on cold inflation pressure. Tire pressure should be checked in the morning before the tire has been run, before temperatures rise during the day and before the tire is exposed to sunlight. If the inflation pressure is correct when a tire is warm, then it will likely be anywhere from 2-5 psi under-inflated when it is cold. -Poor Response and Handling Tires low in pressure are underperforming tires.
