The Carlsbad Community Gardens do an incredible job of bringing together its local communities through the power of gardening. Gardening provides us with wholes...ome experiences, connections to nature, and delicious produce. Additionally, I learned, from the film Kiss the Ground, that gardening can even help protect our environment from climate change. This is made possible through regenerative gardening methods. These methods require gardeners to let their soil grow and become healthy; when soil is allowed to grow and become healthy, it has the capacity to sequester carbon from our environment and store it within itself. Kiss the Ground features famous activists and scientists that support this message of regeneration, such as Allan Savory and Ian Somerhalder.
