Last but definitely not least, give a big hand to the 2020 Campbell Country Woman's Club person of the year, Audrey Kiehtreiber! Audrey was raised in the area, living on the border between San Jose and Campbell. When she and husband Perry married, they made their home in Campbell, drawn by the small-town atmosphere and active community groups. Shortly after buying their home, Audrey joined the San Tomas Area Neighborhood Association as newsletter editor, and more than 20 yea...rs later, serves as President of STACC (San Tomas Area Community Coalition Neighborhood Association). During this time, she met icon Sally Howe, owner of the Campbell Express paper, who encouraged her, proofread her work, and pushed her to get involved. Sally was a member of the CWCC (Country Woman’s Club of Campbell), a group that does so much for the community of Campbell. Upon Sally’s passing, Audrey paid tribute to her friend and mentor by making, with the help of the aforementioned great husband, over 500 tea sandwiches for her memorial. Audrey was encouraged to join the CWCC, and after attending several meetings, she became and remains a proud and active member. During the past year, Audrey has indulged her quilt-making hobby through her participation in Quilts for Kids, making quilts for hospitalized children and for the victims of local fires who’ve lost all they own. An active member in the Campbell community and in numerous organizations, Audrey enjoys volunteering her time and many talents, saying she’s busier in retirement than she ever was while working. Audrey, we can’t wait to show our appreciation for all you do TONIGHT at Celebrate Campbell on the Campbell Chamber of Commerce Facebook Page and on Zoom. CONGRATULATIONS, Peggy Tomasso, for being honored as the 2020 Person of the Year by the Campbell Library. Peggy has had a lifelong love of libraries and understands how important they are to communities. She had a strong connection to Campbell even before she started working at the Campbell Library in 2003. Peggy was excited to be part of the movement to replace the aging library building but the economic downturn in 2008 put those plans on hold.... After getting a promotion, she worked for a few years at the Morgan Hill Library but returned to Campbell in 2016 as the Community Librarian. Re-energized and focused on providing the Campbell community with 21st century library service, Peggy worked diligently on getting support for a renovated building that would be able to provide these services. In 2018, Peggy and many others in the community worked hard to get voters aware of Measure O. The Campbell community passed the measure and plans for a renovated library have become a reality. It is an honor to work on the planning for a new renovated library for Campbell and for a community that supports the vision of the library as a center of community engagement, education and lifelong learning. Peggy-thank you for your dedication and all you've done to make the Campbell Library an integral part of the community! We look forward to celebrating Peggy and others tomorrow night at #CelebrateCampbell.

We've created a Facebook Group for #CampbellCares. This group is for all members of the Campbell community to use as a forum to share how they can or are helping as well as for others to make requests for assistance. Some ideas on HOW to help:... Donate blood at Stanford Blood Center if you are well and healthy Make masks and donate to local retirement homes Support local restaurants and businesses Check in with those who live alone and may be suffering from social isolation Offer to run errands for those who shouldn't be out and about, like seniors or immuno-compromised individuals Purchase meals to donate to first responders or others who are food insecure Foster an animal from a local shelter Buy gift certificates from local small businesses and use them when SIP is over or donate to #CampbellCares or other non-profit organizations If you NEED help, feel free to post here or reach out to us privately if preferred. Let's work together to show just how much #CampbellCares! We invite our Campbell Chamber of Commerce and Campbell Chamber Community Foundation Facebook followers to join this group and to share it with others who may find it useful.
