Happening on Kaua’i this Saturday!! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Well folks it’s been a few crazy long months but we’re getting back at it this Saturday August 15th for a community B-Rad Beach Cleanup We will be meeting SOUTH end of Kitchens Beach (entrance south of Wailua Golf Course) Start time will be at 9am with refreshments provided by @guayaki and all Kaua’i made #reefsafe sunscreen from @hawaiipeeps for all volunteers We’ll have all cleanup bags and sanitized gloves for everyone as well. This school is so important. B-Rad has stood with them for over 5 years. Our climbing, cycling, stewardship, and Yosemite trips have focussed on serving these very kids who need it most. We can't let the Windsor Unified School Board cut this program!!!

Through no fault of their own, North Bay Met Academy is at risk of being shut down. For the past five years B-Rad has whole heartedly supported these kids riding bikes, climbing mountains, and becoming stewards of our planet and themselves. A letter to the tribe in these uncertain times.... Aloha to all the global puzzle pieces we have become. Hidden in our homes, peering out upon that which we do not understand, we are separated by systemic consequences we hope to avoid. Our attempts to maintain our connections to one another are met with fragmented edges that don't line up. Is this the new normal? We sure as hell hope not. But we have to accept that the new paradigm will be laid out before us with no map. The... concept of inconvenience, through cancellation of events or public gatherings, is being squarely silenced by the real fact that the current state of our planet is one of disarray. This is a catastrophe happening in plain site folks. We have to take it seriously. Like so many other programs, schools, and organizations, B-Rad has shut down our operations until we get through this. Please heed the calls to practice social distancing. Don’t travel to your favorite getaway only to risk exposing others with whatever silent passenger you may unknowingly be carrying. Yes, do take care or yourself. Invest in your health and wellbeing however you can. Use these uncertain times to reshape your life in the best form possible. This is what uncharted territory feels like. We are of this world, but we are not in control. In this we are reminded that life has no guarantees of longevity, let alone prosperity. Please don't assume that you are an exception. But be exceptional in this moment. Be kind when you can. Be patient when you feel anxiety’s pressure. And be present for one another. Like puzzle pieces seeking their neighbor’s grasp, we have the ability to create a beautiful landscape. We don’t know what the grand picture will look like but we choose to believe it will be glorious when we all come together. Find your puzzle piece, dig in, and go from there... B-Brave. B-Love. The world is a crazy place. Sometimes rhyme refuses reason and replaces it instead with confusion and more questions. How do we move forward? What will tomorrow bring? What is my place within the narrative? All are valid, and all are unsettling just the same. We strive to model the best of our intentions. The world answers with political agendas and mind numbing spin again and again. But, the intentions remain intact, and they begin to resonate. Like a momentum steady and tru...e, they build and the outcome is glorious. And lord knows we could use a reminder of that right about now... Five years ago, the B-Rad Foundation began. Five years and a lifetime's worth of efforts asking for help, sharing laughs, and supporting communities as much as we could, the truth is that we have made a difference, and damn does that feel good! On March 7th, 2020, the 5th Annual B-Rad Beach Cleanup helped our collective of amazing organizations pass 1,000,000 pounds of debris and trash removed from our beautiful Russian River Watershed. Some have dedicated their life and careers to this honored stewardship effort. And, some joined for just their first of many more. Regardless, MAHALO to all the supporters and volunteers who made this day and so many others possible. We have truly made an impact and role-modeled for our future generations the power of positive potential. 1,000,000 pounds and the work continues... Five years ago we joined forces with a community committed to making a difference for one of Sonoma County’s greatest ecosystems, our wild and majestic Russian River Watershed. Today marked a milestone. With our 5th Annual B-Rad Beach Cleanup, we crossed 1,000,000 pounds of debris and trash removed spanning from the headwaters, nearly 100 miles inland, all the way to the Sonoma Coast. The combined efforts of the Clean River Alliance, Russian Riverkeeper, Sonoma Coast Surfride...r, Rock Ice & Mountain Club,California State Parks, Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods and Guayakí Yerba Mate are proof that we can make a difference for all the right reasons. Event Update: Tomorrow is looking like a beautiful day on the Sonoma Coast. Some scattered showers will roll through late this evening but tomorrow‘s forecast is overcast with light precipitation subsiding around 5-6am. Then partly cloudy and light winds all day. Please arrive early (9:30-9:45) to sign in and get oriented. Opening ceremony will start at 10am with acknowledgements and our annual blessing.
