Greetings Bay Area! Today marks the first day of Black History Month! With roots dating back to 1915, this month-long, annual recognition of the history and accomplishments within the Black community was officially declared by President Ford in 1976. We encourage you to get engaged in your local communities to learn about the amazing things African Americans have contributed to our culture. Feel free to share what you find below!... In the meantime, throughout the month, we will be highlighting and uplifting members from our DU community who are making contributions to our overall history and we can’t wait to share them with you! Stay tuned, friends!
