I'm happy to announce that we have 4 more Sawyers in our ranks.
Sawyer day 2 underway.
Found a book of ours while away from camp
Sometimes you find a volunteer who has his finger on the pulse of good deals and today, Jeff Saunders has struck again and found these on sale before getting us one for each camp!
The new Sawyers did well today. Tomorrow it gets harder.
A new class of Sawyers, learning their new trade.
Latrine roofs are DONE. Big thanks to Daryl Thomas for coming out and helping get this project completed.
The first tree of the new year! The cluster of Tan Oaks in that area are all infected with Sudden Oak Death and need to go.
Nothing too exciting today, but Tika enjoyed the outdoors until the rain started. And I drained some standing water creating this cool effect.
We inspected the meadow the other day. While it still looks great, I suspect it'll be hip deep in tall grass in a month or two.
I think Skippy was the most correct, I spent the day making a mess and finding some issues to resolve.
Off the wall. If you look closely, you can see Tika and I on our walk.

Having lunch while shutting down Oljato for the winter.
PSPS kicked in late last night. Hopefully power will come back on tomorrow.PSPS kicked in late last night. Hopefully power will come back on tomorrow.
Took longer than we wanted, but the second roof is on and done. In November we'll tackle Latrine 2. Looks bright in the background, but it's not.
Now I can see all the extra bits I've had laying around. Might do tape on the lower half of pegboard.
In a fit of what can only be described as, insanity, I've reorganized the entirety of the generic electrical parts into one, easy to navigate, location. Now I have a date with the lable maker for tomorrow.
Surely this is safe to use.
We've completed one of the new latrine roofs. It's really nice, 2 to go.
Added some lights to make it easier to find things. It's really nice.
Some fun numbers for those interested. The Order of the Arrow produced about 15 bags of garbage over the last 2 weeks, call it about 300 lbs. But I've taken 5,700ish lbs to the dump in the 2 runs I've done from the OA. So they have removed about 5,400 lbs of junk from camp. Thank you!
Reinspired by the hard work of the OA Fossil Clan, I have pushed forward to create a power tool and parts storage area in the maintenance building.
One of the projects from the Ordeal over the weekend was to clear out the decades of degrading pipes behind the maintenance building in an attempt to make our camp more fire safe.
Didn't take a bunch of pictures this weekend, but here's an action shot of the OA getting work done.
Just had 2.7 magnitude earthquake just north of camp.Just had 2.7 magnitude earthquake just north of camp.
