I don’t think there’s ever been a point in my life when I’ve appreciated my mother (Marilyn Treacy Stone)than in the past two years since starting BOLD AND NIMBLE ... coming from nothing, and making something of yourself from the ground up, is no easy task. From a young age, my mom was a #warrior From being resourceful enough to sew her own clothes in middle and high school, to working full time to put herself through 2 college degrees, all with a newborn baby, and at the m...ere age of 21 years...There’s no one else that defines being both BOLD+NIMBLE better than my mother. She is the reason I took the leap of faith to quit the corporate world and start BOLD AND NIMBLE ... She had no doubts when I told her my plan, and how my company would make its mark. I will never forget what she said the day I told her of my new venture: If anyone can do it, it’s you. It’s not going to be easy, it’s going to be the hardest thing you ever do. No one will understand the hours and hours you put in or the stress, or how personally challenging it all can be, but I’ll be here whenever you need someone just to vent to. Believe me Katie, I would bet on you every day. Just don’t ever give up. Don’t cut yourself short. This isn’t necessarily true for all, but as long as you stay authentically yourself - Katie Treacy - all the pieces will fall into place. This picture was taken 28 years ago when my mom was pregnant with me. All the doctors told her she couldn’t have anymore children...yet here I am. 1 in 26 people will get Epilepsy in their lifetime. The seizure disorder does not discriminate based on age, gender, race or socio-economic factors. The prevalence of Epilepsy is greater than Autism, Cerebral Palsy, MS, and Parkinson’s disease combined. Being 1 of these 26 individuals, I can speak from personal experience that life is an uphill battle with this seizure disorder. Life is too short not to be or do good - which is why I’ve made this the back bone of @boldandnimble ... more importantly, it’s organizations like @fodadaclothing that create and spread awareness on such issues. 25 Cities. One Bay Area Manufacturing Economy. #fbf to the Inaugural Bay Area Manufacturing Summit put on by #SFMADE. Partnering with such a great team at @Sfmade was an honor. Held in a historic manufacturing facility in West Oakland, the Summit brought together more than 450+ regional leaders. Featuring the Mayors and Vice-Mayors of San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, and Fremont as well as leading Bay Area manufacturing companies. One of our favorite moments was hearing Assembly Democratic Member, Rob Bonta, of the California State Assembly, California's 18th Assembly District, passionately talk about how we must fight for a more prosperous communities throughout the Bay Area to ensure our future is more just and inclusive for all. #boldandnimble #sfmade #entrepreneur #experientialmarketing #california #fbf #event #friday
