On Fridays, we wear pink. So many Knights showing their support today for breast cancer awareness on Zoom, in campus offices, and at athletic conditioning We continue to hold close all of those in our Bishop community affected by this devastating disease.

So great to see our student-athletes and performers back on campus for conditioning. If there’s one thing our Bishop community is known for, it’s faith in action and generous hearts. And, even with face masks and social-distancing, Concordia Club’s drive-thru toiletries collection captured that BMHS giving spirit. The cars never stopped coming and, by the event’s end, thousands of items were on their way to a DTLA women’s shelter. Thank you, Knights, for always showing up to support our neighbors in need!

Alumnus Solomon Hughes ‘97 has been cast to play Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in an HBO pilot about the 1980’s Lakers basketball dynasty. After BMHS, 6’11 Hughes played basketball at Cal where he earned his B.A. in Sociology and M.A. in Education. He went on to earn his Ph.D. in Higher Learning from the University of Georgia. Prior to jumping into acting and writing, he served as a lecturer in the Graduate School of Education at Stanford. #knightpride pc: Van Johnson Company; Photofest

We’d like to welcome our newest faculty member, Mrs. Jeanine Mattsson, who is currently teaching Geometry, Honors Geometry and Introduction to Calculus. A veteran of Catholic schools, Mrs. Mattsson attended St. Francis Cabrini Elementary School and St. Mary's Academy, and has taught math at St. Joseph and St. Paul High Schools. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration at USC and also holds her CA Teaching Credential in Mathematics. Mrs. Mattsson has two adult children, one baby granddaughter, and is an avid dog loverher brood includes two St. Bernards and a pitbull mix rescue pup. Welcome to the Knight family, Mrs. Mattsson
