Fun & Safe Outdoor Fencing! BHFC, ran outdoor fencing classes in October & November! They were a great success and it was wonderful reconnecting with everybody. Now in keeping with our philosophy of making sure that all our members, and their families remain safe during these times, we have suspended outdoor classes for the month of December due to the increasing number of covid cases in Los Angeles county. We will resume all outdoor classes in January! We will continue to h...ave our Zoom classes until further notice to get your fencing fix. Special guests, and coaches are scheduled for December! Please keep an eye out for updates the first week of December! Wishing all of you a wonderful & Safe Holiday Season!

What have your BHFC Teammates been doing? Some incredible things it seems! Featured Fencer Matthew Lee... I have been running a political blog, On The Fence Blog (www.onthefenceblog.com), since the summer of 2018. My blog promotes civil discourse among high school and college students on pressing political issues through roundtables, gives students across the political spectrum the opportunity to use this platform to share their views, and encourages civic engagement among fellow students. As of today, On The Fence has readers from 39 countries across 6 continents, and readers from 39 US states. We have 9 permanent writers from across the country, and also publish pieces from guest authors. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I started a series called COVID-19 Around The World, where writers from different parts of the world analyze their country’s reaction to the virus and reflect on how the pandemic has impacted their lives. Recently, I have written articles and conducted roundtables on the Black Lives Matter movement and the Senate Races.

Beverly Hills Fencers Club is catching up to find out what team members have been doing this summer! Feature Fencer Gabi Moreta During the last few months I have worked with artist Mary Rose Deraco with her latest series. While working as a nurse, she had caught covid-19 during the very beginning of the epidemic. For weeks she suffered with the symptoms, not knowing if she would be able to survive this experience. Thankfully she recovered, and as her first act covid free, she... painted a self portrait of herself in an attempt to purge all of the pain she had felt during those weeks. This lead her to paint several other portraits of medical professionals on the front lines against covid and the creation of The Crowned Corona Fine Arts Gift Project.
