I am completely heartbroken and devastated to share with you that Hazel has tragically passed away. Please send your healing prayers and positive thoughts to her canine sister Misty and her adoring human family. As you can imagine they are feeling incredibly lost and sad. Hazel was one of the fastest learners I've ever had the pleasure to train and she was truly a sweetheart. Ugh, this is hard. It is never easy to lose a pup, especially one so young and full of life. Hug your pups extra tonight.

In honor of my amazing Dad and my life-long, dear friend Karen Winholt, I'm asking for donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. I've witnessed first hand how PD slowly takes away a person's abilities and the impact it has not only on their life, but also those around them. It's devastating. I hope you'll consider contributing as a way to celebrate my 57th birthday with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal.

#TalkLessSayMore When humans communicate with dogs, we tend to use a lot of words and sound, but this isn’t even necessary and, in a lot of cases, silence is the better approach. You can’t calm down an over-excited dog by shouting at it, because that just adds to the excitement but you can correct and redirect an over-excited dog with something as simple as a touch. ~ Cesar Millan
