Hello Island Merchants! The annual Balboa Island garage sale is coming up quick. It will be on Saturday, April 10th from 7:30AM-2:30PM. Last year we had quite the raffle, thanks to many generous merchants. This year we are coordinating earlier to make sure everyone has the opportunity to participate in the cross-marketing and benefit from all of the extra island traffic and we are setting the generosity bar even higher. To participate in the raffle marketing, you can donate... an item, gift card, gift basket, passes, etc. of $100 or more in value. Items need to be delivered to Luxury Real Estate at 208 Marine Ave by 4/1/2021, however the sooner the better as we will take pictures and advertise to over 50k followers on IG and FB leading up the the garage sale. Your raffle item and business name will be listed on the flyers we hang along Marine Ave, on balboaisland.com/garage-sale page, on the FB event page, in Instagram and Facebook story posts and on maps we had out on the day of the event. My office usually does a prize of $500-$1,000 value. On the morning of the event, we hand out doughnuts and an island map of sellers. This map will have merchant deals listed on it. In addition to raffle contributions, you can offer a merchant deal for the day of the garage sale. All merchant deals will be included in our marketing. Our advertising reaches over 100k views on Facebook alone. We usually have 2,000+ attend the garage sale. In loving memory of Tom Smith, we are saddened to announce his passing after a long battle with cancer. Tom passed away peacefully Friday morning, January 29th,... with his wife by his side.An employee for over 47 years, Tom was an important part of the Balboa Island Ferry family and the Balboa Island community and we all feel his absence. The story of snagging this vintage ride we now call "Luxury Ohms". It sits in front of our island office and gets non-stop comments of memories of the good ol' ...days and how this brings added joy to the island life. I posted about this about a year ago. The property has finally sold for 2.21m. It sold July 30th. It’s our understanding that the last food from Picante Martin's Mexican Restaurant will be available through this Sunday.
