Hi families! We wanted to check in with you all as we know many of you have been asking the million dollar question- when is Play and Learn school going to reopen and how are we going to do that safely for everyone? We are still aiming for the June 8th reopening date. The staff has been very busy working on creating an environment that is safe for everyone. We are gathering new procedures and policies to implement that will follow CDC and our childcare licensing standard...s pertaining to COVID 19. We know you are entrusting us with your children and we don't take that lightly. Our students mean everything to us. As soon as we have these written procedures and policies we will be sharing them with you. In the meantime enjoy your Memorial weekend by being safe and if gathering remembering to stay 6 ft apart and/or wear a mask. Stay safe! See more

We want to wish all of our mothers a very special and definitely unforgettable Mother's Day! If you're looking for something to do Disney is having its second family sing a-long at 7pm on ABC. We'd love to see some of our students singing with their moms!! Take pictures, so we can share when we reconnect. We are preparing and looking forward to when that time comes. Take care!

*UPDATE* Due to the extended Shelter in Place order by the Contra Costa Health Services, Play and Learn School will remain closed until our summer session. June 8th is our current reopen date unless the CCHS states differently. We are extremely sorry for any hardships this puts on our families. We are committed to keeping our families safe and we are continuing to research how to do that under these unusual circumstances. We all miss you and look forward to when we can be reunited. Thank you to everyone who helped provide artwork to put up on Play and Learn School's fence. You are welcome to send more pictures to the school and we will put them up. These beautiful images help brighten a space that usually has happy, laughing faces. We hope to see you all in the near future. We are still waiting to hear from the Contra Costa Health Services as to a reopening date. We will let you know as soon as we know anything. Until then please stay healthy!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry this is so last minute but I just saw that Disney is doing a family sing along tonight at 8pm on ABC. I know a lot of our students are great singers and dancers and would enjoy this! We miss getting to see them belt out their favorite songs! So, open your windows and let everyone enjoy their wonderful voices! Spread the word too, since it is so last minute. We miss you! Be safe and continue to social distance!

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you are all still staying healthy and continuing social distancing. We all need to do our part to help stop this pandemic! .In that regard, Play and Learn School will remain closed until May 3rd or until otherwise notified. We are sorry for this inconvenience and any hardship this places on our families. An email will be sent out to discuss financial details. The teachers will also be putting something out to their students on the Shutterfly app. You can continue to reach someone through our email [email protected].. The consensus is to use email and we have found a way to make it work. Thank you Kristin. Please feel free to touch base this way. We all can't wait to get back to normalcy but in the meantime thank you everyone for your kind words and continued support during this usual time..

Dear Families - We hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. We are all traveling in uncharted waters. Our MAIN priority has ALWAYS been and will ALWAYS be the safety of our children. That being said we will not reopen Play and Learn School until the Shelter in Place Order has been lifted. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused your family. All financial issues will be addressed when we know for sure when we are reopening. We k...now the school districts have pushed back their return dates. We will be following the Contra Costa Heath Services guidelines which as of today remains April 8th. We will notify immediately if this date changes. In the meantime, Pinterest has great activites and a website called Red Tricycle has great tips to beat the Shelter in Place blues. One positive from this is the OVERWHELMING love and support sent to us. We want you to know how MUCH it means to us and only reinforces why we LOVE being a part of the Play and Learn family! Be well! *UPDATE* There has been an order from the health officer from Contra Costa County for a shelter in place. This order will go into effect at 12:01AM Tuesday until April 7th. We will continue to provide up to date information as it becomes available. Therefore, we will close Play and Learn School effective today at 6:00PM .

Since the Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has issued a new guidance, effective 3/10/2020, intended to slow the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). CCHS is advising that all mass gatherings with 50 people or more be cancelled. In accordance with and in continued effort to keep our children, families, and staff healthy and in reducing their risk of becoming infected with COVID-19, PLAY AND LEARN SCHOOL IS CANCELLING THE SPRING BONNET PARADE which was scheduled for... Friday March 20th. In Lieu, of our yearly Spring Bonnet Parade, classes will have individual celebrations in which pictures will be taken in their fancy hats. We will continue to take the precautions advised to us by the CCHS to ensure that our school remain a safe environment for all. Thank you for your part in helping us. Thank you everyone for another wonderful Halloween parade! It is always so nice to have such a big turn out. We hope you liked the surprise the Shooting Stars, Tiggers, Chickadees and Funky Frogs performed for you. They sure enjoyed preparing for it! REMINDER: Tomorrow is picture day for the Toddlers, and the Shooting Stars, Tiggers, Chickadees, and the Funky Frogs, starting at 9:00. The Tiny Turtles, Funnybunnies, and Graders will have their picture day on Wednesday. Also, Play and Learn School will be closed Monday, November 11th to observe Veterans' Day. Thank you SO very much to all those who serve, have served or has a loved one serving or who served! See you on Tuesday.

Just a friendly reminder- Play and Learn will continue with regular operating hours tomorrow (10/10/19). The children are welcome to come in their pajamas and bring in a flashlight and stuffed animal.

Welcome everyone to our official 2019 - 2020 school year! We will be having our "Back to School" night this Wed. 9/11 at 7 pm to 8 pm. This is an informational event so we are asking that it is parents only. We look forward to you getting to meet your child's teacher in more depth and finding out what the year holds.
